Being and manifestation

Nonexistence (ʿadam)

العدم

Editorial review pending

Nonexistence may mark lack of outward manifestation, the status of the possible, or a relational judgment. Reading every occurrence as absolute nothingness erases distinctions in the argument.

Distinctions and context

The lexicon differentiates absolute nonexistence and “nonexistence of nonexistence.” These labels should never be collapsed into a single doctrine without checking the exact passage and its logical contrast.

Research question

Is existence denied absolutely, or only relative to a locus or level?
